You think your life is not meaningful? Quit looking at yourself and your own agenda, and begin to look at others and their needs. We are stronger than we think. Even the meekest people have something to offer to others. Have you heard about all the children going without any toys this year for Christmas? Or a kindly grandma or grandpa that could use some attention? Even to shovel their driveway, or put together a Christmas wreath arrangement? Perhaps making a trip to the store, or just a kind smile and opening the door for another brings a little joy to a stranger. I helped load groceries for a grandma at the walmart. She appreciated it. I think that if I make it to that age, somebody would be there to help me out.
Im heartfelt now because I viewed some of the 911 videos that I've only now been able to bring myself to watch. Seeing those helpless people jump to their deaths was heartbreaking. But it does a little good, I believe, it humbled me to a point of sadness and compassion. The last 9/11 call of Kevin Cosgrove's really hit me where I think I needed it most. He didnt have a choice to jump, the building caved out from under him, and then all you hear is, "Oh GOD!" May God rest his soul, and all the other souls who died in that tragedy.
Then I ask, what's next? It's been 10 yrs, what's next? I don't even think Bin Laden's dead. Maybe he is, but I don't know. So, just because he's dead, does that set our minds at rest? Hopefully not. I thought for the first time in a long time after viewing the videos of people jumping to their deaths, of all the people out there commiting suicide and killing each other, the world's really gotten so ugly. It's a wonder anyone finds joy in such an ugly world. Then I think of Kevin Cosgrove's last words, "Oh GOD!" And I wonder if he was a Christian, is he in heaven now? I really Pray he is. And all the others who died so tragically. Like the little girls that were murdered recently, and so many others, even those who comitted suicide.
What hope is there in this sick, perverted and tainted world? I feel the hope comes from you and me, and anyone who has the compassion and the strength to shine through and do the best to make the world a little more positive and safe place to live. God help the children in this world to live the lives they are destined to live. To grow in love and peace and to know and remember love and patience and to teach that to their children.
God help those who have been brought up in horrible living conditions, unloved, and swept under a doormat by wreckless beings who have no compassion or love. I just want to say that if you're having a bad day, or going through some trial, no matter how small or large, to do as my mom says; 'Dig your heels in', and hang in there. You know there are good days and you know there are bad days. Look forward to the good days, and let that be your guidance to get through the bad.
During the bad days, make yourself get out of your home and do those little things that bring joy to another. Even a smile, or a wave to a stranger makes them feel somebody out there cares about them. It's a good feeling to think others care about you. Also, being nice and going out of your way to do nice things makes you feel good about yourself and gets you out of the rut, so to speak. It gets you out of thinking that you're having a bad day. It really does make you feel good about yourself, and it puts you in a good mood.
I wish everyone a good day, a happy day. Im going to give you a smile that I hope you will pass on to others. Take Care! :)
